Youth Motivations to Employment and Entrepreneurship
Expertise France contracted Altai Consulting to conduct a study on youth entrepreneurship and employment to support the implementation of the EU-funded SLIEDSE programme.
The study had the following objectives:
Provide a comprehensive and up-to-date picture of youth labour market dynamics in Libya
Analyse key underlying obstacles to business start-up and trends of entrepreneurship
Identify promising areas for future interventions
The study involved a 1,005-person nationally-representative quantitative survey of Libyan youth, complemented by a smaller survey of 100 entrepreneurs and a series of face-to-face qualitative in-depth interviews with a diverse group of young entrepreneurs. In addition, key stakeholder interviews were conducted with private sector stakeholders and the international community.
