Laurence Hargreaves

Laurence Hargreaves oversees Altai’s activities in East Africa. Laurence has been working with Altai since 2009 and in that time has worked in Afghanistan, Jordan, Libya and Somalia. Laurence is a research, monitoring and evaluation (RME) specialist with over a decade of experience in fragile and conflict-affected environments. He has a passion for conducting RME projects in the field of human security, covering topics such as migration, trafficking, access to justice, perceptions of security, stabilisation and counter-radicalisation. In his current role he oversees Altai’s projects for a range of clients including the UK Government, US Government, EU, the World Bank and UN agencies. From 2016-2018 Laurence worked as an M&E Manager for the Norwegian Refugee Council. Laurence holds an MA in International Security from King’s College London, an MEng from the University of Cambridge and a diploma in Islamic Law.
