Karim Sheikh is a Consultant at Altai Consulting.
Karim conducts strategy analysis and research for international clients across Africa and the Middle East. His work focuses on technology and digital solutions in the energy, telecommunications, and climate-resilient agriculture sectors.
Karim has contributed to multiple research, evaluation, and advisory engagements using mixed-methods approaches. He supported the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning activities of GSMA’s Innovation Fund for Climate Resilience, notably leading a gender study across nine countries in Africa and Asia assessing the impact of digital solutions on women’s climate resilience. He recently led large-scale fieldwork operations for a regional telecommunications operator in the Middle East, identifying new customer segments and touchpoints to support sustainable customer acquisition. Additional experience includes supporting the exit strategy of an off-grid energy company in Africa; leading market research in the FMCG sector across Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan); and contributing to a capitalisation exercise for Fondation de France in Ukraine.
Prior to joining Altai Consulting, Karim worked as a Venture Capital Analyst at LoftyInc Capital (Abidjan), where he supported the development of the fund’s climate-tech investment strategy.
Karim holds a Master in Management from HEC Paris and a Master in Public Affairs from Sciences Po Paris. He conducts research in English, French, and Arabic.
