Emily Pernet

Emily Pernet is Altai’s Mozambique Country Manager, and is based in Maputo with frequent travel across the Horn of Africa. Emily leads Altai’s socio-economic research in East Africa, working for clients including UK Government, IOM, SNV and the World Bank. Emily has led some of Altai’s largest quantitative socio-economic research projects including a major assignment to measure the impact of Covid-19 on Somalia’s household and private sector economies. Prior to joining Altai, Emily was an Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Fellow in Rwanda and in Haiti, where she supported the governments in using evidence and formulating their industrial and trade policies. Emily holds an MSc in Development Economics from SOAS, University of London and a BCom from McGill University. She is fluent in both French and English.
