Powering Opportunity in West Africa – The Impact of Off-Grid Solar

GOGLA, the voice of the off-grid solar industry commissioned Altai Consulting for a series of socio-economic impact research on off-grid solar home systems (SHS).

The first two reports of the Powering Opportunity series focused on East Africa. This latest round of research led to interview over 1,600 customers of four leading SHS providers in four countries in West Africa. The data collected demonstrates that SHS have a substantial impact on households in terms of access to light, quality of life and access to economic opportunities.
