Powering Opportunity in South Asia – From Work to Well-being, the Important Role of Small Scale Solar

GOGLA, the voice of the off-grid solar industry commissioned Altai Consulting for a series of socio-economic impact research on off-grid solar home systems (SHS).

This edition is the third report of the series and the first to focus on Asia rather than Africa. The research led to interview over 900 customer in India and Pakistan to understand how SHS impacted the economic activity and well-being of households. The data shows that even in countries with higher grid-connection rates, off-grid solar still has a role to play in improving quality of life for users.
