Sagal is a Project Manager with Altai’s East Africa team, where she contributes to a range of projects relating to socio-economic development in Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa region. Sagal is currently leading Altai’s Third Party Monitoring work for KFW in Somalia, and leads a socio-economic study on women’s livelihoods for UN Women. Prior to joining Altai, Sagal worked as a Project Manager for a stabilisation programme in Somalia focusing on economic development, governance, conflict resolution, gender and human rights. Sagal has extensive experience working in the development sector in Somalia with IOM, UNOCHA and supporting government institutions. Sagal is a fluent Somali speaker and holds an MSc in International Community Economic Development from University of Southern New Hampshire and a BA in Political Science from University of Toronto.
