Mona Ahmed is a Consultant at Altai’s Public Policy Branch based in Dakar. She is currently working on the Monitoring and Learning System for the Sahel and Lake Chad window of the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa. In this capacity, she is responsible for the country portfolios of Burkina Faso and Guinea, as well as overarching migration governance across the region. She previously worked as a Junior Policy Analyst at the OECD Development Centre on the migration-development nexus, with a particular focus on forced displacement. Other relevant work experiences include the United Nation’s Conference on Disarmament and the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees in Germany. Mona is a graduate of the double-degree program between Sciences Po Lille and the University of Muenster, where she specialized in conflict development issues in East Africa and the Middle East.
She is fluent in German, French, English and Somali and has a good command of Arabic.
