Altai Consulting has taken part in numerous macro-projects involving the design or review of sector strategies with ministries, donors and other stakeholders. It has included producing reports in preparation of large international conferences.

Monitoring of the 10 guiding principles for good intervention in fragile states, for OECD – 2009

OECD has mandated Altai Consulting to conduct a series of high-level interviews and a workshop among donors, stakeholders and various actors of the civil society on the 10 guiding principles for good intervention in fragile states. The aim of the project is two-fold: i) review the application of the principles and how to improve the international engagement in very concrete steps, principle by principle, and ii) review the monitoring process in the formulation and articulation of the principles, to make it more effective in the Afghan context, and facilitate the actual engagement between the international community and the state of Afghanistan.

Report on aid effectiveness, for the Paris donor conference on Afghanistan – 2008

Altai Consulting has been involved in the preparation of several reports and events related to aid effectiveness: in support to the Paris conference on Afghanistan in 2008, a report on aid effectiveness in Afghanistan was drafted by Altai Consulting and published by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Strategic document: Afghanistan 2001-2008, key achievements, for UNAMA and Afghan Ministry of Finance – 2008

Altai Consulting was mandated by UNAMA and the Afghan Ministry of Finance to prepare a strategic document on the key results of 7 years of development policy in 18 key sectors including health, education, infrastructure, commerce & economy, etc. Altai Consulting’s research team has collected country-wide information from the different line ministries and key donors involved.

Sector strategy & stakeholders coordination, for UNICEF and Afghan Ministry of Public Health – 2004

Altai Consulting was mandated by UNICEF and the Afghan Ministry of Public Health to conduct an assessment of the salt industry in Afghanistan and propose a strategy to support the sector.
