Ben Barry is a Project Manager at Altai.
He has managed two national opinion polls that were part of the first survey of its kind to gather and assess the views of Afghans in every province of the country, tracking changes through four surveys over the course of a single year. He has also managed an evaluation of a USAID-funded project to spread unbiased civic education programming to rural communities prior to the September, 2005 Parliamentary elections.
Prior to joining Altai Ben worked in the office of US Congressman Chris Van Hollen and worked on political campaigns in Alaska, South Dakota, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC. His international experience includes a year at Moscow State University as a David L. Boren (NSEP) Graduate Fellow. From 1999-2001 Ben was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Yekaterinburg, Russia. He has been an election observer in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and most recently the Kyrgyz Republic with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Ben was educated at Johns Hopkins' School of Advance International Studies, Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Trinity College (CT).
